Tupperware Serving Dish Slotted Vegetable Platter - Straining Server + Lid - Vintage. This vintage 1970s, gold and white colored Tupperware server/platter/dish is perfect for serving 2 kinds of vegetables because it comes with a separator you insert into the white colored, straining portion of the dish. You can also remove this piece and serve only one vegetable too. The white portion of the server with straining holes, sits elevated in the gold portion of the server so any water/liquid can drain into the bottom and vegetables stay crisp and not mushy floating in water/liquid. The lid fits securely onto the top, keeping the vegetables warm. In good usable condition with no staining, deep scratches or dings. With lid on, the container measures 12-1/2" wide X 4" high X 8-1/2" deep. These vintage Tupperware containers/servers were made to last and much better built than the cheaper ones of today. The word "TUPPERWARE" is embossed onto all 3 of the serving pieces. Hard to find in vintage or consignment shops, if they even have any, making this server a desired collectible for Tupperware collectors, vintage kitchenware collectors or vintage serving dish and platter collections. The dish was used once back in the 70s for a special occasion, then stored all these years in a cool dry place. Comes from a smoke-free/pet-free home. (NOTE: I HAVE 2 OF THESE EXACT CONTAINERS, IF YOU WANT ONE FOR A FRIEND OR FAMILY MEMBER, JUST DOUBLE THE PRICE) About TUPPERWARE: Tupperware was developed in 1946 by Earl Silas Tupper (1907–83) in Leominster, Massachusetts. He developed plastic containers used in households to contain food and keep it airtight. The once-patented "burping seal" is a famous aspect of Tupperware, which distinguished it from competitors. Earl Tupper invented the plastic for Tupperware already in 1938, but the product only worked with the emergence of the sale through presentation in a party setting. For 60 years, Tupperware brand products have closely followed rollercoaster trends from the suburban movement to the 60's feminist revolution to '90s "cocooning" continually adding a unique organizational touch to the lives and kitchens across the nation. The success of Tupperware was not just a result of its perfectly organised sales network. The home party concept was equally important. These parties with friends, acquaintances or neighbours in a homely atmosphere were designed to gain women’s trust, so that they would feel secure enough to purchase a product and encourage others to do the same. RETURN POLICY--NO RETURNS ACCEPTED, please ask questions beforehand. I ship to the USA only! No overseas or foreign shipping except via eCRATER's Global Shipping Program.
